Richardson's Rumble 2013

It was kinda at the limit of what any of us (left to right: Darren, Paul, Robin, Chis, Kev) want to do on a bike. Got up at 6.30 on a Sunday, for a start! Then looked out of the window and saw snow on the cars and on the grass, but not on the road, so that meant no excuses (under severe peer pressure of being called a whimp). Cold, wet and windy, but we all managed it. There is never any choice, unless you want to turn back, which we saw 6 or so people do. Most of us just about stayed upside of 14 mph moving average for the 67 miles with a freezing cross wind most of the way both out and back. Robin surged ahead last quarter as the (free) baked beans began to beckon. Real sense of achievement for all of us, albeit truly penis-whithering. Very well organised, great signage and generous feed stop ... and the baked beans on toast plus generous and very welcome mug of coffee at the end. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/282971999
