MAGPAS Cambridge Sportive

If they run this next year and weather is as kind as it was today, I would definitely recommend this sportive to others. The route is pretty much all on very quiet roads through the picture postcard villages of SE Cambs and West Suffolk. It is surprisingly hilly apart from the last 15 miles. This was the first time the organisers had staged it , and it showed both in a surprisingly low turn out (50) and the failure to set up the food stop in time for all but the slowest/late starters. We found a  village shop around 40 miles  that seemed to have come straight out of central casting for League of Gentleman with the slowest till service I've experienced in a very long time. Still the Mars Bar tasted good and was v welcome, though think Darren regretted his first (and last) tasting of Red Bull. Just as well we stopped there as it was the only shop open until we reached Fulbourn, 20 miles later.  Don't have any photos, but doubtless you can paint your own picture of the hills from Darren's Strava techno summary!
